PEG®SD

Substructure for Solar Power Plants

The PEG® Version with Conventional PV Module Alignment

The PEG® SD is a fixed-tilt system for solar power plants with a similar design to the standard PEG® EW system. PEG® SD Version offers significant advantages compared to traditional fix-tilt and solar tracker systems in terms of material consumption and construction time and costs. PEG® SD is suitable for higher slopes of up to 16 degrees.

PEG® SD Advantages at a Glance

  • Up to 16 degrees slope inclination
  • Light weight substructure reducing material, logistics and installation costs, increasing the installation speed and offering lower carbon footprint
  • Simple and fast installation reduces labor and machinery costs by more than 60%
  • Highly efficient area utilization of 1.6 MWp per hectare
  • Flat module angles avoid shading effects and allow maximum space efficiency
  • Lower height vs other FT systems increasing installation safety and speed, reducing installation costs and increases the land use.
  • No foundations required, allowing cheaper and faster installation and disassembly at the end of the project life
  • No heavy machines required

Successful Installation also in winter

Despite heavy snow and rainfall, constantly changing between freezing and thawing temperatures the work at the PEG® SD site in Rottendorf continued without interruptions. The crucial point leading to a successful installation in time lies in the fact that you do not need heavy machinery when installing PEG® mounting system as well as in the light weight components of PEG® (not more than 3 kg/6.6lbs per part).

Josh Unger, Director of Unger Solar: “With the Rottendorf project we could show it once again. With a „normal“ substructure and in these weather conditions I would not have asked my employees to work on site at Rottendorf in January 2021.”

* Explanation of key figures:
MWp/ha: Referring to the complete DC area, including the gaps between the DC blocks/tables
kWp/man-hour: Time for complete installation of a PEG solar power plant incl. inverter stations
MWp/container: Only the substructure
Machine costs: Referring to all machines for the installation of the DC system, compared to a conventional substructure
Labor costs: Labor for complete installation of the PEG solar power plant, incl. inverter stations, compared to a conventional substructure
Logistic costs: All, including machinery and labour, to the site and onsite, compared to a conventional substructure
All figures are indicative, may differ regionally and assuming the use of 380-400W modules
