SolarTeam Ecuador Completes Largest Corporate Ground Mount Solar Projects in Ecuador for Corporación Favorita and Kentucky Fried Chicken

 

Quito, Ecuador — July 01, 2024 — SolarTeam is proud to announce the successful completion of Ecuador’s largest ground mount solar projects for corporate clients including 2.4 MWp Corporación Favorita and 2.5 MWp Kentucky Fried Chicken. Utilizing cutting-edge, high-density structural solutions from Jurchen Technology, these projects underscore SolarTeam’s dedication to providing high-quality, efficient, and customized technological solutions enabling corporate client’s to switch 100% to renewable energy.

1. Corporación Favorita Solar Complex:






    • Project Type: Industrial

    • Capacity: 2.4 MW DC, 2 MW AC

    • Location: Quito-Sangolquí, Ecuador

    • Scope: This photovoltaic complex supplies 100% of the renewable solar energy demand for 20 commercial premises, adhering to the highest quality standards and promoting environmental sustainability.

    • Equipment: 4,368 x 550W Jinko Panels, Huawei Inverters (100 KTL, 60 KTL, and 40 KTL)





        2. Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) Solar Farm:








    • Project Type: Industrial

    • Capacity: 2.5 MW DC, 1.29 MW AC

    • Location: El Inga – Quito, Ecuador

    • Scope: This photovoltaic complex powers 26 KFC commercial stores in Quito, making it the largest commercial self-supply project in Ecuador and the first to have generation in a different location from its demand.

    • Equipment: 2,720 x 550W Jinko Panels, 40 Huawei Inverters (60 KTL and 100 KTL)




Innovation and Impact

These projects mark a significant milestone for SolarTeam, as they are the largest PV projects undertaken by the company and the largest corporate PV projects in Ecuador’s history to date. PEG EW’s simple, high-density racking enabled quick deployment and helped SolarTeam deliver innovative and scalable solar solutions to its clients. The projects were able to maximize the land use and allowed two phases for KFC with the second phase meeting 100% of energy needs for its 26 store locations.
